Poisson d’avril

Happy April Fools’ Day!

In France the holiday is known as Poisson d’avril, which literally translates to “April’s fish”. Typically on this day, children “hook” a paper fish on the back of someone they wish to fool. To reveal the joke, everyone yells “Poisson d’avril!”

I guess my students forgot about the holiday, or perhaps there is a certain age after which they stop “hooking” fish because sadly, I was not fooled today 😦

I guess it’s okay though, I could have ended up like the man in the following Youtube video 😉

Exhibit A:

And now, time for a classic!

    Salut !
